Who are the DreamGirls?

Studio A's DreamGirls is a competitive/performance team that is designed to create a positive environment where young dancers can grow as performers and teammates. It is important to Studio A that our students develop their self-esteem, self-discipline, and pride in their accomplishments. Our team members will learn how to be responsible individuals at the same time as they’re improving their dance technique. It is essential that our team members learn to become more precise with their dance technique while also maintaining an enthusiastic attitude throughout the learning process. At Studio A we value the competitive/performance team process. It’s not just the reward at the end that is important; we encourage our dancers to appreciate all accomplishments, no matter how small. Being a team member will help dancers learn to respect others and themselves and boost their self-confidence.

It is important that competitions and performances are viewed as learning tools for our students. Being a competitive performer gives our students the advantage to make a specific goal and a set time frame to achieve that goal.

Our DreamGirls are the face of Studio A Dance Company. These dancers perform in the community, at charity events and compete from regional all the way to the National level. These dancers also have the opportunity to travel around the country for live dance performances such as the Indy 500, Disney World, aboard cruise ships, or at professional sporting events, like the Boston Celtics or the Orange Bowl Half Time Show!

We believe that members of our competition teams not only grow as dancers but also grow as individuals. We spend a great deal of time on teambuilding, leadership building, goal setting, and fundraising. Studio A Dance Company feels that learning how to cooperate on a team is a lifelong skill and we value being a part of that learning process for our students.

DreamGirls meet once a week to work on choreography, performance, technique, and fundraising for events/performances. Our Director is currently preparing for several dance performances all over New England!

Our director has made much success with her students that she has trained all over New England. She has been very successful in the competition circuit, including high point awards and special awards for stage presence, choreography and musicality.

The competitive/performance companies at Studio A are being developed now and they range from ages 8-18, from beginner to advanced levels. Each dancer is hand-picked and is placed into a company according to the student’s age/level.

Come be a part of making dreams come true with Studio A's DreamGirls!
